Why do you 'have' to pick him?

If we dont, all we do is lose a sub from the bench, which is no different to picking someone who won't play due to not being good enough

The HGP is a bonus sub, basically. If you have one great, you get 7 subs. If not you only get 6, big deal. We only got 5 not so long ago and teams coped.
