The Celts were not indigenous Britains, they were invaders.
The original inhabitants were Stone Age and they were almost completely obliterated after invasion by The Beaker People. They, subsequently, suffered they same fate at the hands of the Celts.

Interestingly, I read that nearly all Brits have a high proportion of Beaker genes in their code
