You could just not buy one every season...

I quite like having the choice of multiple kits every year - more chance of finding one that the fickle s**ts actually like and will wear (eg couldn't get any of mine to want last year's home kit for love nor money, but can't get the boy out of his purple 3rd kit and this year's home kit is a big hit with them happily)
