What Happens...

Someone involved in the England team-fan, player, media, whatever, comes out with the line, or similar, "...we've a good chance of winning".

Opponents and critics immediately latch onto this as 'arrogance'.

Whilst opposing players and coaches will counter that rather modest quote with words like, "...we're a great team...we've got some great players...we'll show them...our style of football is so much more attractive...we are now even more convinced we will triumph..."

Which, of course, isn't 'arrogance' at all!
