used to do a nice liddle bit of smashey and nicey charridee work over in Pristina helping out a womans' refuge that was set up for war widows where they could leave their kids for either a morning or an afternoon to give the women a chance to do a little work and also for women to get some respite and advice for victims of domestic violence.
One day the lady that ran it asked me if I could help out and provide soft drinks and that chocolate bars for a trip out at the weekend, "no worries where are you going?" I asked, she said we are taking them to Adem Jashari house" (look it up) I was like "Why on earth would you want to do that" and she was "but they have to know their history" and I was like "really? that's the last thing they need to know" but she just dismissed me with "oh you don't understand" and I guess I didn't and I still don't to this day but then again I didn't live through what they did. it is a pretty f**ked up place.
