Has anyone ever heard of a bulls**t folklore/old wives tale about West Ham

whereby any player scoring a hat trick against them are supposedly cursed to an untimely death?

I'm reading a book where that is a plot device, and was just wondering if that is purely fictional, or whether he's taken that snippet of reality and spun it into his story.
