There's been a couple of occasions his professionalism has been called into question over the last season and he has subsequently been left out/disciplined.
Let's not forget, he's not a kid anymore - he's 23 and has played over 100 games for us. Maddison by contrast appears to have a much more mature head on his young shoulders.
Murphy has great attributes but just doesn't think like a footballer IMO so he will always be limited and frustrating to watch/play with.
Getting £20million for two youth products (Murphy X2) who effectively look to have matured in terms of their technical development is probably good business.
I may be coming across as harsh but it's just madness that the basics such as decision making, anticipation and reading of the game *were* less desirable during our academy recruitment over the last few years.
