If we wait until next season

the parachute money will be gone so it will be a lot harder to go up the year after because there will be very little money for signings and we will probably have to offload some of our high wage earners. We will therefore be left with the a fair few of Worthingtons poor signings still on their 3 year contracts.

Plus, we would be less able to attract better managers if we are skint and no longer have 'one of the best squads in the league' according to Dowie and other good managers.

If Worthington went this season, we would have a good chance of attracting a decent manager, such as one from the lower leagues who might jump at the chance of managing at a club with our setup, parachute money and fanbase. The new manager would then have the money and time in the summer to try and bring in the players we need to get promoted next year.

Why should we let Worthington waste the last parachute payment bringing in players to cover up for his failings in the transfer market this year?
