But couple of points spring to mind

If this deal is done quickly, it puts us in a stronger position on maddison. Likely 10 mill and getting rid of big wages would theoretically be enough to balance the books therefore we can command the fee we want for mads. we could have a 'we dont NEED to sell' moment with leicester / everton

as others have said money is only good if you spend it wisely.

would i have been happy in the adams / houghton regimes we would spend it well? not at all.

now - cautiously optimistic. we could snap up some good league 1 talent and build from there.

yes we all want to be in a better position but lets do this bit right and not worry about what we did wrong is my thinking (presuming we've learnt from past mistakes of course).
