Its a balance isnlt it but just hope we don;t end up with too many midfielders

I think that's been a problem for us in the last couple of seasons. Not in terms of holding midfielders where we've been one short bjut more in terms of the attacking midfielders where the truth is we probably shouldn;t have signed Pritchard when we already has Madders, Wes and Naismith and as a consequence I think Neil and to an extent Farke never quite got the balance right in terms of how much they used certain players.

Seems pretty clear that as holding options we will have Tettey, Trybull and Godfrey which looks strong.

Alongside them as more orthodox midfield passers or playmakers we have Vrancic and McClean

As central attacking midfielders we have Cantwell and possibly now Buendia. Really I think we need another winger and a striker more than any more midfielders.

That said Leitner is a tidy player and if fully fit could be an asset so I'm not going to complain if we sign him as a replacement for Maddison. I will complain though if we do not spend a reasonable chunk of any Madders money on a striker.
