Cromwell is an interesting character. he wasn't a megalamanic and if you read Tom Rileys book on Cromwell in Ireland what he did wasn't against the Irish but an Anglican army and the actions of troops were on a par with the standards of European war at the time. he was a bigot imperialist tho
