It's a bit of a roundabout way to get there - I'd say best bet it fly into Berlin, then ICE train to Leipzig. From there I think we took a local train to Grimma, and then a bus to Colditz.

We went a few years ago - at that point the locals barely knew of its significance. As a historical attraction it was quite rough and ready, but brilliant as the guide we had was basically the person in charge of the whole place. The day we were there, they actually found a new escape tunnel under some floorboards and down a wall - great stuff.
