Mr Worthington said:

"He wasn't on the substitutes' bench on Monday because we had Simon Charlton there. He can play at centre half or left back and Gary Doherty can only play centre half. He doesn't want to play as a striker so there is no point putting someone on the bench when they can't play another role".

But Mr Doherty said:

"I know if I am called upon again to play up front then I am happy to do that. It is something that has gone well for me, and it is something I enjoy doing."
