and the media is nearly all right-wing. Therefore the UK tends to end-up with blue Tories or red Tories.

Polices such as state owned infrastructure, free education, well funded health system, social housing etc. is normal in many countries and they used to be normal in the UK... but are now regarded by the UK media as extreme left-wing.
