I think this is more his team than Bayern was tbh

Bayern were an already established great team with a settled first xi when he took over. All he could really do was stamp his own style on the side (succeeded), try to improve their league form (succeeded) and hope to win the Champions League (failed) as Heynckes did. It was a fairly thankful task following up on their legendary 12/13 season.

This City side however, has needed a huge rebuilding job, particularly at the back. He's doing an excellent job this season and if he can win the Champions League with them this year he will go down as an all time managerial legend.
