Clearly we have issues to solve but I don’t see today’s game as in anyway a microcosm of

our season. Fulham have spent 4or 5 seasons in the Champs, have an excellent, expensively compiled team, a billionaire owner and a proven coach who has won promotion to the Prom before. They probably did want it more than us today, of course they would, and they were good enough to up a gear when required. We were without, probably our best CB, best winger and arguably our best DM.

We changed almost the entire squad in 2 windows and still have 4 players who we can’t afford but can’t get rid of out on loan and several more who are likely to leave in the close season. We’ve been consistently resilient this season apart from a poor start and that awful period after Arsenal but we often can’t create chances or, when we do, convert them.

But, we’re skint, not in debt, well £3.5m soon, and there seems to be a plan and I imagine the next window will be equally dramatic and hopefully the arrivals will improve the system and the goals for column, but a cold, wet Saturday on Good Friday with nothing to play for isn’t the game to judge this season or next season on.
