That's a shame because I'd really like to know what word (if any) do other countries use

to mean a match between two local rivals. We use the word 'derby' which I found out just now is from the earl of Derby but presumably other countries don't. So do they have their own particular word or do they just not bother and call it something like 'a match between two local rivals'?

(The old firm match between two local rivals doesn't sound as good does it?)
