He just didn't make enough good signings most were really poor

McGovern, Andreu, Mulumbu, Jarvis, Naismith, Mbokani, Bamford for example. Plus he got rid of Bradders and Grabban without ever really replacing them properly.

He made the club some money on Brady & Pritchard but in terms of signings that really improved the Chris Hughton/Neil Adams side I don't think it was good enough.

Obviously not totally his fault but he was culpable for a lot of waste. Preston suits him better as he has to work with the players he's got and has no room for bringing in his own players.
