You can't extrapolate from those two, or any, examples that there's never a "too early"

situation. There are loads of others that point the other way. Worthy was too early, and the consequences for the club were dire and long-lasting. It's similar now, except the general trajectory of the club is positive now, in my opinion, which is wasn't then. That means it's even more important not to destabilise it
