I can confirm that the whole of Barnsley has come to a grinding halt.

This happened just over 30 years ago, and was primarily driven by the power crazy government of the time, and their determination to break the solidarity of the socialist workforce.

Work has recently begun to regenerate the area, but the feeling is that nobody is really arsed.
