I just had a brief look at yesterday’s post-match “analysis”...
The short corners were obviously deliberate. They had a team of giants. In fact, I don’t recall seeing a team as tall as them for a long time. We had no Klose. So try to manoeuvre them and create a chance that way, yeah? We nearly did as well. The amount of moaning on here and in the stadium about short corners, seriously, it doesn’t make anyone look intelligent.
“Number of shots on target” is not the same as “number of chances”. That should require no explanation.
Capitals needed: IT’S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TACTICS OR THE SYSTEM. WE DIDN'T SCORE FROM THE NUMEROUS CHANCES WE CREATED. THAT’S HUMAN ERROR.
That’s all it is. No tactical change, no four-four-f**king-two, no amount of lumping it in the box, and any other helpful suggestions, will suddenly ensure a player scores a one-on-one or make Maddison’s shot hit the inside of the post, or whatever else. Shit happens. Or doesn’t. FFS.
