We hardly put any crosses in, the build up play is largely too slow and we rarely create opportunities inside the area - in terms of ricochets or scrappy periods of play - all things that Holt thrived on. We have no runners in behind for flick-ons and the main role of the striker is to run around a lot and hold the ball up on the edge of the final third.
In general that is, today was a bit different and much more encouraging in the first half. I thought Oliveira was excellent in the first half: he held the ball up superbly, created some chances with good passes and came close to scoring with a good effort.
