*tinfoil hat on* I suspect the armed teachers idea is even more nefarious than it might at

first seem. I can imagine that most who would not want to do that would be the more liberal minded teachers. Drum up enough support to make it obligatory, and you have the power to fire / exclude those who refuse. What better way to influence the dominant politics of educators and ensure the long term direction of politics in the USA.
