why is it people say 8 points effectively 9

(in relation to how far back we are to the top 6) because of goal difference? do they not realise that those 12 goals would reduce a fair bit with an 8 point swing in our favour.

for example
Bristol city Lose 2-0 Lose 1- 0 and Draw 1-1 GD would be +6

NORWICH W 1-0 W 2- 0 W 2-0 GD of +2

ive taken some mild results above but add in a big win for us or a heavy defeat for BC and it will be much closer
