I bike about 15 miles every day and am burning through chainrings and chains like a twit, as I apparently ride the bike too fast and hard and my bike and the components are not elite level, probably bog standard Shimano bits. I don't know, I have someone else fit it as I don't really know what I'm doing, mechanically.
My bike frame is quite light and its a city bike hybrid style rather than the racer or mountain bike type which I like. Plus it looks a bit old so no one ever tries to steal it.
So my question is:
1- do I just accept lashing £150 on new chainset etc every year?
2- Do I buy some top quality drivetrain components? if so, link me up as I have no idea about whats the top quality.
3- do I just buy a better bike? if so, whats a really good bike to buy? from where? Light but hardwearing hybrid style is what I would want. Under £1000 pls.
Any wisdoms you can share will be really appreciated. Or if you want to call me a c*** thats fine too.
Cheers pals.
