If there was any sort of attempt to sabotage the applause for Bobby Robson or similar then I too would be unhappy and unsupportive but anything that's pure banter shouldn't be taken from the game. Besides I remember continually being beaten by the decent 1p5wich team of the 70's/80's and things like the Gunn fly kick so its nice to finally be getting our own back.
