is having an x-factor compatible with having the most controlled passing in the league?

I think that unless you have some of the best players in the world throughout your team - e.g. Bayern, Barcelona, Man City - then you have to trade off somewhere.

And a very controlled passing style doesn't leave much room for the all important x-factor. Because it's too predictable unless you have a team full of players like Messi, Suarez, De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero etc... who have the quality to tear apart a well set defence on a regular basis.
