Anyone any good with mobiles?...I need advice

HELP!...I have a Motorola V975 phone (3 mobile) but I have no SIM card....I tried putting my vodafone sim in (silly!!!) and it has told me to contact system operator. I have tried to get it unblocked today but failed!...any ideas guys? I want to end up PAYG on any network....HELP!
