Second the point about not using the in-house fitters as they charge a bomb.

There is LOTS of room to negotiate as it's basically just wrapped chipboard - we've previously just played two companies off against each other. Also get your appliances online (using Top Cash Back) or at least make the supplier match them. Also a fitter may be able to access better prices at the likes of Howdens, Jewsons etc
