We are on the right track certainly

Farke is a decent coach and there is no doubt that our first team is good enough to compete for top six, in fact I’d say it’s up there with any team other than Wolves.

Where we struggled earlier in the season is that a combination is fixture congestion, injuries, some questionable workload management and the squad being a bit too thin in certain areas meant that as soon as a few key players are missing or knackered we were not able to deal with it as well as we should.

It’s no coincidence that having a proper left back fit has made a huge difference to our defence (along with the switch to 3 CBs. As soon as Tettey and Trybull are out or knackered the midfield is not he same and I think we did not manage Nelsons injuries/workload well earlier this season.

The recent acquisitions give the squad more balance and hopefully bake us better able to cope. although a long term absence for Pinto would I think cause problems. It’s a bit of a shame that we left the squad a bit thin for the first half of the season or I think we could have been up there. For example whilst Godfrey has obviously benefitted from being at Shrewsbury you can’t gelp feel that had we had him to come in when Tettey and Trybull were our it might have helped prevent that disastrous run we had which has cost us.
