I think he probably has become prejudiced as a result of recent experiences

just as you describe.

I'm not saying what he said is correct, its clearly a generalisation but we are all shaped by our experiences and if his recent experience is of African player(s) causing problems when they are not in the team then is what he said really that shocking or indeed surprising?
