If you think Darts is a Sport then Phil Taylor is hard to beat in terms of titles and longevity (and grope convictions) at the very highest level.
Fed has done it over 14-15 years, first major in 2003
PT first world championship....... 1990
Now I know what you are thinking, you cant compare the sports because of the physicality involved.
OK, fair point but as Fed is a freak to be winning titles at his age, how many dart players who played in the 20s and 30s went on to play at the highest level for another 20-30 years......
Also if you look at Feds stats, from 2010 till 2017 he did very little in terms of major titles. It could be argued that he currently has some of the poorest competition in the top 10 he has had for a long while.
Taylor on the other hand started creating records in the early 2000's which are now common place such as the first live televised 9 dart finish in the UK.
Now 9 darters happen quite a bit suggesting the competition has never been tougher in this era.
Feel free to hate on him as a person but what a f**king career the man had.
and BTW..... I don't even like Darts........
