Right, the idea of a nanny state peddled by s**te-mongers like the mail, sun, express and other assorted fascist press is utter bollocks.

Throughout British history (specifically post 1700) there have been regular complaints from people/the press that successive governments have been altering life/ limiting our freedoms etc.

From 18th Century electoral reform to the creation of the welfare state, from 19th century public health to the introduction of CCTV people have complained.

The idea of this being a nanny state is bollocks. Freedom of speech, expression and a right to choose makes this and other democracies great. If we are being constantly observed and having out lives restricted then check out the current google china quandry, or perhaps go on a fun holiday to North Korea.

We have so many rights and you SHOULD exercise them, READ 1984, dont rely on heresay and the opinion of others. Look at all political options, dont just say 'im a lefty, everything else is bollocks' consider what they offer . Oh and NEVER use wikipedia to back up an arguement, full of holes and misleading articles. Cross reference for sure, but never lt it stand alone.
