Strangely I was thinking about this when I posted about new signings just before

the game kicked off. I was thinking the 2 or 3 signings Farke mentioned would be a RB/RWB and a striker, and if we had the opportunity, two strikers.

What I didn't add was that at the time it made sense to get a permanent RB/RWB to compete with or back up Pinto (so preferably young and talented but content to sit on bench for a year or so if he didn't break through) one proven goalscoring striker, and the possible third one would be on loan IF we thought that our U23 strikers had a decent chance of making the grade by the time next season starts.

Maybe the likes of Fonkeu are not yet ready but Farke believes they will be with another off season in their belts (a few friendlies etc). In that case it makes sense to bring in a loan for depth in the meantime.

We also know that January is the worst time to buy especially when you're talking about goalscoring strikers.
