If the base case is we have to pay all his wages

Surely not paying all of his wages is better?

Presumably if there was an option for us to pay none of his wages, or sell him, we would.

So if this is the best offer on the table, that’s a good move.

I suppose the alternative scenario would be someone that thinks the base case is he plays for us - but I don’t think that’s a reality
