Yes, I understand what you're saying

And what I'm saying is, that actually, wealth is relative to your cost of living, otherwise it is a meaningless statistic.

You could earn a lot less, and have a lot less wealth, but have more money (and be wealthier in real terms) if property is cheap where you live and so is the cost of living generally.

You wouldn't be in the 1%, but your quality of life would be much higher.
