I think Hunt wants to make his name as the one who sorted the NHS and Social Care out ....

rather than as a "bit of a c**t" as he;s cureently regarded.

probably takes the view that he's been through all manner of (self inflicted admittedly) grief over the last few tears so not going to stand aside and let a new health secretary get the credit for any improvements in the future.

Think May really could have done with a new person in that role for a morale boost to the NHS staff and to signify a fresh approach.
