Don't watch Eredivisie but I can imagine that the Dutch approach to that sort of thing

would be quite pragmatic. But that's also far easier when the eyes of the world are not on you. Make a mistake in when using it or not in the Eredivisie and at best a half a million people in the world mildly give a s**t. Make a mistake in a Man Utd vs Chelsea Premier League game and you're all over the world's media.

It's a nice thing about the Netherlands. Just important enough to actually be comfortably first world, but just small and unimportant enough to be able to have a bit of freedom to do things differently without being constantly watched. I experience the same in Dutch subsidiaries of multi national companies too. They always sort of see us as different and give us a greater level of autonomy than the larger country subsidiaries.
