Wymondham, Brundall both excellent shouts. Also consider

Acle - school much better than it was, loads of lovely walks, buses every 15 minutes to Norwich and Yarco, broads very close, Roman woods, great local community; very easy drive into Norwich (or Yarmouth); lots of family attractions very close.

Strumpshaw - more rural than any of the others; genuinely peaceful/restful; road/rail/bus comms a little more irksome but still great.
