Bit harsh

Both had been very successful and key members of the team the previous time we had been in the Championship (which was where they'd be playing). And Whittaker's contract was for 1 year only so it wouldn't require him having to play at Prem level, which is a different matter. Jerome scored 16 goals last season, our leading scorer by some way.
It is easy with hindsight to knock decisions, but the point is that those particular contracts were pretty rational at the time.
