French side considerabubbly cheaper and if you go in Whitsun it's not a holibobs for the Frenchies so you can get a gite for a lot of people for a very small amount of money for the week (because most of the gites/chalets stay empty that week).
That area does have one the more bizarre things I've seen, in that there are two petrol stations literally about a third of a mile apart; one on the French side and one on the Swiss. It's a totally open border. Fuel on the French side is about 70% of the price of fuel on the Swiss side. Yet queues at both are about the same length.
Who wouldn't drive an extra two thirds of a mile for a 30% discount on their fuel? Je ne comprends pas.
