I’m calling for our owners to actively look for and listen to expressions of interest from investors or (more likely as no one will invest without control) potential new owners of the club and to consider them if suitable and their ownership will enable us to compete better.
To date I think their minds have been entirely closed because they essentially think that all foreign owners have questionable motives or that anyone who might possibly want any sort of return for their investment is not going to act in the best interests of the club which is not necessarily the case because the two are not always mutually exclusive. Indeed you could argue that the current strategy is being pursued for reasons other than the best interests of the club although that’s obviously a matter of opinion.
I just want them to genuinely make the club available and see what’s out there. I don’t believe they have ever genuinely done that.
I would also like a board/owners who make better/more proactive decisions when it comes to sacking poorly performing managers but that’s not necessarily linked to wealth.
