This is where much of the problem lies....

In all matches this season we have the following record in the first 30 minutes of play:

Goals For: 10
Goals Against: 24

Fact is, ever since Worthington took over we've had two massive problems. Firstly, we have never started matches well and from the statistics we can see this is still the case. Even when we won promotion we got out of jail quite a few times with terrible first half displays, only to sort it out in the second period.

The second problem is our complete inability to defend a lead, which may not be an issue at present but is a part of Worthington's game which he has never addressed. Going 1-0 up and throwing 10 men alongside Greeno doesn't win matches. If it did, we'd have been in the Prem years earlier instead of Birmingham. Surely both problems ultimately point to a lack of motivation and self belief.

I truly believe Worthington has many talents which are a real asset to NCFC. However, one of the first characteristics he'll always comment on when he signs a new player is their "willingness to learn". Yet with his blinkered views and same old mistakes time after time, he's hardly a good role model for someone wishing to develop.
