Motoring advice req'd

Car has recently started to make a rubbing sort of noise (wouldn't describe as sqeauling or grinding) under braking, particularly at low speed / gear, and which sounds as though it is coming from the right rear wheel.

Presumably it is likely that this is the brake pad needing replacing? Given that I've not noticed any reduction in braking performance or pulling under braking, would you say that I am okay for a 180mile drive on the 27th without having the car checked over?
