Paddy is being a massive hypocrite though.

Start of the season both him and Bailey were saying ‘This project that we’re going through at NCFC requires patience from everyone, it won’t happen overnight, It will likely carry on into next season. This season is going to be one of transition and expectations should be tailored accordingly.’

Then three weeks later after a couple of crap results, ‘The pressure is on now, patience is wearing thin... blah blah blah.’

Then we went on the good run and it was, ‘Now we’re really seeing them click, everything is looking good for a solid effort at a top 6 finish, maybe even top 2 if it continues.’

Now we’re back to ‘The medium to long term can wait, the ship is listing, etc, etc’.

See the problem is that those at the pinkun and the other local media, instead of being a little bit responsible and looking at it objectively as they should. They are getting caught up in the hysteria of the passion merchants, the Jims, the selwyns of our fan base and flipping opinion every time the wind changes. Sure, I get it, they want eyes on their content and maybe it’s a bit of that coming into play but for me they are lacking any journalistic integrity at the moment by publishing the contradictory statements that they do every few weeks.

I’m not a journalist so maybe I don’t get it, and I only see these things from afar these days, with less emotional context than many of you locals will but that’s how it looks from outside the Goldfish bowl of Norfolk right now. This is nothing personal against Paddy by the way. I do like him generally but this is how I’m seeing it at the moment.
