And I must admit to a degree of confusion - it wasn't at all clear to me what our tactics were. Our only idea seemed to be to lump it over the top for Murphy to chase. Wes did this to brilliant effect once, but Murphy monked it up anyway. Preston were equally unadventurous - their big idea was for the fat lump up front to roll about holding his head in the hope of winning free kicks - which Neil knows full well we can't defend.
Individually we seem to lack confidence and quality. Oliveira was awful. This is not entirely his fault - he's not really a lone striker. I can't understand why Jerome wasn't brought on alongside him. At the back Gunn didn't really have anything to do. I thought Hanley and Zimmerman looked solid, but then someone gave the lad a free header and two points went west. In midfield I thought Reed worked hard but he's lightweight. Vrancic appears to add nothing. I think with Godfrey adding steel in midfield it might have been a different game. It's ludicrous that we have made him unavailable.
It was one of the worst games I've seen in nearly 50 years of going to Carrow Road. Neither side deserved a draw.
