Back from game; Somewhere over the rainbow...

A goal from a wizard, some scarecrow defending, the tin man running the line and a lion without enough courage summed today's game up for me. I still believe there's a crock of gold waiting at the end of all this but I can understand those who currently think it smells like a crock of... something else.

The rainbow corner flags added a bit of colour to another grey Carrow Road encounter with Maddison's sumptuous free-kick goal the real highlight. The oh so needlessly conceded corner that led to their equaliser was pure naivety and then the inevitable free man in the 6 yard box was even more empty-headed.

Josh never recovered from missing the open goal, heaven knows why he lacked the confidence to just go for goal but, for me, he drifted out of the game after.

The last ten minutes faded away completely after the lengthy delay following the assistant ref's unfortunate injury and the search for a suitably qualified official to take the 4th spot (I obviously wasn't near enough... but I have officiated with the ref Tim Morgan before back in his Sussex League days).

More frustration, especially for the home supporters who've seen some poor performances over the past two months. Alex Neil would be pleased with his return and may feel aggrieved that Preston didn't take alll three points.

Sadly, Dorothy isn't that close to the mark when she says "there's no place like home" but we do all need to get used to being in a different place than we've been used to for a while... "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore"

Let's hope that we'll wake up where the clouds are all behind us when we visit where the Bluebirds fly next week!
