I did that once in the 90s towards the end of the IRA bombings

Worked at Cambridge Circus in the West End, came back from lunchtime shopping one day to find the area cordoned off and about a dozen of our people milling around. I took them to a pub I knew well and bought a round while we waited for the all clear from the office to return.
