well, as said above

it would be slightly more risky in the short term. There is less guaranteed income, but I would guess not by a huge amount. It may get rid of some of the complacency as well, if attendances and income were actually tied more to entertainment value.

Also long term, giving more fans (particular younger ones) the potential to go to games and sit in areas with the best atmosphere, is almost certainly going to help the club financially.
