I think that if casual ticket prices were pretty much on a par with season ticket

prices, then a lot fewer people would bother with season tickets. Even if the Lower Barclay is still full, other areas of the ground would have loads of casual tickets available and could be 'taken over' by groups wanting to be more vocal.

One problem at the moment is that most casual tickets are dotted around the ground in between ST seats. So it's almost impossible to alter the 'stand demographics' in a meaningful way.
